Confessions of an Over Educated Fantasy Sports Junkie
Confession, n.
1. Something confessed, especially disclosure of one's sins for absolution.
2. Statement acknowledging guilt, made by one accused or charged with an offense.
Fantasy sport, n.
1. Game where fantasy owners build teams to compete against other fantasy owners based on statistics generated by individual players or teams in a professional sport.
Junkie n., Slang
2. One who has an insatiable interest or devotion: a sports junkie.
I want Confessions of a Fantasy Sports Junkie to be a place where fantasy sports enthusiasts like me can shoot the breeze, share our thoughts and our ideas concerning two of the greatest games on the planet: fantasy baseball and fantasy football.
I will be jotting down my views and insights which you are going to either agree with or not. I hope that people will read, and respond so that we can all learn from the various topics and be much more successful in our fantasy leagues.
Along the way I will also try to hand out a few fantasy tips and tricks as I pick them up if I can, although I may have to search them out to find them. As a professor, I know the best knowledge comes from solid research. I will do my best to find everything of value for my fantasy leagues, and then convey it to you. I will also try to teach you how to do your own research if you are so inclined. Ultimately, I want to help you make the right calls, stay ahead of the competition, and finish higher in your league standings.
I can’t promise you that I am always going to be 100% accurate in my predictions or have every detail about every player every time. But I can promise you solid fantasy information from a guy who loves the game as much as you.
Please understand I am not doing this for some altruistic purpose, but because as an educator I know a very important fact. The best way to learn something thoroughly is to teach it. As a fantasy sports enthusiast, I need this information as much as you do and will be practicing exactly what I preach.
Anyway be sure to subscribe. Whether you are a beginner or expert there will be something for you to learn here...
I wish you all much fantasy success (unless you happen to be in one of my leagues),
Solo
